June 11, 2019 – Heart Bargello

The customer who pieced this beautiful Bargello heart quilt requested a custom design using feathers. The outer floral border was stitched using the Lumina Bethany© design by Donna Kleinke with One Song Needle Arts. The middle purple border was stitched using the Destiny Half Block 1© (sides/top/bottom) and Destiny Quarter Block 1© (corners) designs by Christy Dillon with My Creative Stitches. The inner lavender border was stitched using the Gabriella Sash 1© design by Donna Kleinke with One Song Needle Arts. A heart was stitched in the upper middle and bottom corners of the Bargello block using the Dove Heart motif© design by Jessica Schick with Urban Elementz. A larger heart was stitched in the center of the Bargello heart block using the Gothic Feathers Motif 1© design by Donna Kleinke with One Song Needle Arts. Finally, the areas surrounding the four quilted hearts in the Bargello block were filled with Enchanting Feathers© designed by Donna Kleinke with One Song Needle Arts. All stitching on the top was done with off-white (old lace) colored thread and a cool grey thread on the back.

 

May 17, 2019 – You Are My Sunshine

One of our customers requested a graduation quilt for her daughter using the Sunshine panel by Timeless Treasures. To enlarge the quilt, a fourth border was added to the Bevels quilt design by Mountainpeek Creations. The theme of all of the fabrics centered around bees. The backing was pieced placing random fussy-cut squares from fabric containing bees and “bee” words. The quilt was stitched with gray thread using the Daphany design by Anne Bright Designs.

 

April 12, 2019 – Log Cabin Jewel Tones

This beautiful log cabin jewel tones quilt was made as a wedding gift for the customer’s son and daughter-in-law. Her son really likes red (for Nebraska), so she used a lot of red fabrics for the centerpiece on the backing, which is surrounded by inspirational words on off-white fabric. The quilt was stitched with soft silver variegated thread using the Pearl Swirl design by Kristin Hoftyzer (Intelligent Quilting).

 

 

April 4, 2019 – I Heart You Baby Quilt

This adorable baby quilt was made by the customer for her soon-to-be granddaughter. A medium pink thread was used for stitching. Each “conversation bubble” was stitched with a crosshatch in the center heart and surrounded with a feather design. The dark sashing was stitched with multi-sized button flowers and then filled in with a meandering stitch. What a wonderful family keepsake.

 

 

March 30, 2019 – Star Wars

The customer made this quilt for her grandson who really likes the Star Wars movies and characters. The quilt was stitched with off-white thread using the Star Wars design from Designs by Vickie. The fabric highlighted the newer Star Wars characters, while the quilting design included characters from the original movie. The customer’s grandson was thrilled with his gift. Great job, Grandma K!
