Loftworks Quilting began as a dream of owner, Jeanette Sapp, while she worked on her daughter’s graduation quilt. Here’s her story…
My grandmother, Helena Wacker, was a wonderful seamstress and quilter. Like many women of her generation, she made quilts out of scraps from clothing projects she had worked on. My sister and I inherited our grandmother’s love of sewing and supplied her with an abundance of fabric scraps, which she used for quilts for all of our relatives. I am fortunate to have four quilts made by my grandmother.
I first learned to quilt when my daughter requested a quilt for her graduation. One quilt and I was hooked! I took several classes at local quilt shops and learned lots of techniques and patterns. After making several quilts, however, I would often get discouraged because of the time involved in hand quilting. Like many other quilters, I not only had a stash of fabric, but I also had a lot of UFOs (unfinished objects) in my closet. After years of being in the corporate world and following my husband’s career moves, I made the decision to follow my dream and start a long-arm quilting machine business. I definitely took a leap of faith and trust that this endeavor would work, and it’s been worth it!
I want to help you finish your UFOs. It’s up to you whether it’s an all over, edge-to-edge or custom design. All of my quilting is hand-guided on an American Professional Quilting System (APQS) Millennium machine. I use So Fine, #40 or #50, three-ply polyester thread and have a large selection of colors to choose from. Please visit the blog and patterns section to see examples of quilt stitching and designs.
I am in this business because I love to quilt, and I appreciate what quilts provide – beauty, comfort, and special memories. I look forward to helping you.
