December 26, 2016 – Antique Red with Sheep

 

 

This happy sheep quilt was custom quilted using an antique gold thread to match the stars in the red background. We created a sheep shape based on the fabric in the sheep blocks and it was quilted in each center of those blocks. Then we stitched two additional frames around the sheep. The inner frame was Adora designed by Donna Kleinke (One Song Needle Arts). The outer frame was a Sashiko Clamshell designed by Donna Kleinke (One Song Needle Arts). We stitched connecting squares/diamonds in the sashing between blocks. In the border we stitched Cotton Balls designed by Pam Clarke (Digi-Tech). A small cotton ball was stitched in the interconnecting blocks (corners) of the sashing.

 

December 6, 2016 – Family/Sibling T-Shirt Quilts

 

 

 

The customer of these quilts had wanted for years to have a t-shirt quilt made for each of her three children.  So, she decided these would make wonderful Christmas gifts for these young adults. Her son’s quilt was quilted with silver thread using the Any Which Way design by Jessica Schick (Digi-Tech). This quilt has black flannel for backing. The middle quilt shows one of her daughter’s quilts quilted with gray thread using the Party Time design by Barbara Becker (Digi-Tech).  This quilt has burgundy flannel for backing. The third quilt is her other daughter’s quilt, which was quilted with silver thread using the Star Dance design by Barbara Becker (Digi-Tech). This quilt has navy flannel backing.

 

 

November 16, 2016 – Husker Quilt

 

This lap size quilt was made as a surprise Christmas gift for a customer’s spouse. This customer prefers geometric quilting designs, so we quilted it with black thread using the Angle Play design by Celine Spader (Digi-Dech).

 

November 15, 2016 – Nine-Patch on Point

 

 

This Nine-Patch on Point quilt was custom quilted using off-white thread.  The customer requested an organic theme for quilting.  Each nine-patch block was quilted with a Hawaiian Motif design by Jessica Schick (Digi-Tech). The white blocks were quilted with an Organic Leaf by Sue Heinz (Digi-Tech). The side and corner triangles were quilted with a Leaf Triangle design by Deb Geissler (Digi-Tech). The back was made using a farm scene print in the middle and two additional borders.

 

November 10, 2016 – Whimsical Lap Top with Vine Branch Border

     

This fun, cheery, spring-time quilt was quilted with white thread using the Simply Sunflowers design by Deb Geissler (Digi-Tech).  By using white thread, the quilting enhanced the quilt and made the blocks and side vines pop.
